Admin./ biographical historyWilliam Cullen was a Physician and Chemist. After lecturing in chemistry and clinical studies at Edinburgh Medical School, Cullen was elected Professor of Theory of Physic in 1766. In 1768 he began to lecture in the theory and practice of medicine in alternate years with the Professor of the Practice of Physic, Dr John Gregory.

Scope and ContentThis volume contains manuscript notes of a syllabus of a series of lectures on the Nervous System. The title page consists of "Text to the Nervous System 1768-9 By Dr Cullen, Edinburgh" A second title page says "Of the Nervous System. Syllabus to the great work" The pages are numbered 1-76.
The manuscript is not in William Cullen's hand, and may have been written by one of his students.
