Admin./ biographical historyWalter George Spencer was a General Surgeon and a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (1887).
He was awarded the Jacksonian prize in 1889, and was Member of the Court of Examiners from 1908 to 1918 and of the College Council from 1915 to 1926. He served as Vice President for two successive years from 1924 to 1926. He was Arris and Gale lecturer in 1895, Erasmus Wilson lecturer in 1896-7, Vicary Lecturer in 1922, and Bradshaw Lecturer in 1923. He was also Chairman of the Library Committee and served as joint Editor of Plarr’s Lives of the Fellows in 1930.
