DescriptionDrawing of two penises showing urethral strictures, by William Bell, unsigned and undated, before 1786.
The drawing on the left (labelled Fig. 1) was engraved by William Sharp and published in Hunter's Treatise on the Venereal Disease (1786) as Plate 1, Figure 1 (later reprinted in Hunter's collected 'Works', Vol. 5). The preparation from which the drawing was taken is preserved in the collection: see related record for P 308. The preparation for the drawing on the right (labelled Figure 2) is also preserved as P 1370.
