Scope and ContentVolume is interleaved with blank pages. Contains a preface, table of contents, alphabetical index of donors, table of synonyms (gives the name used in this catalogue and other alternative names for the bones), and a catalogue, giving a number and detailed description of specimens. Specimens are arranged according to 'the vertebrate classes' and by specimens intended to the systems of the skeleton, constituents of osseous tissue and the vertebra. Heavily annotated with locations, corrections and additions by William Henry Flower and a later hand.
