  • Admin./ biographical history
The Court of Examiners initially met every two weeks to examine candidates for membership of the Company (the diploma exam) as well as naval and army surgeons, mates and assistants. In 1852 they began to hold exams every week and then over two days each week. These volumes are a continuation of the earlier Examination Books kept by the Company of Surgeons (See also COS/2/1-2).
