Scope and ContentPatient files for British servicemen treated at the Queen's Hospital centre at Sidcup during the First World War. Files contain some or all of the following: clinical notes, photographs and illustrations. The files are arranged alphabetically by patient's surname and each patient has been assigned a unique ID or case number.
The files are contained in boxes numbered 1-41 (case numbers 1-2308; Abbott-Young) and "Specials M-Z" which contains case numbers 2309-2318.

Conditions governing accessThese case files were subject to an 85 year closure period under Data Protection legislation. This closure period has now expired but due to the sensitivity of the records, access is restricted. Conditions governing reproductionThese case files contain graphic photographs of young men with facial injuries. Due to the sensitivity of these images and the risk of causing to distress to living relatives, reproduction of the case files is restricted. We will grant permission for a limited number of case files to be reproduced in an academic or medical context. We will not authorise reproduction for commercial purposes such as advertising. We do not allow photographs from the case files to be shared on social media or published on websites where they can be downloaded and republished by third parties.
