Scope and ContentThe volume contains a book of "Receipts", or recipes initially compiled by Sydney Humphryes. The volume also contains a variety of other hands. The title page states "Sydney Humphryes, His Booke, 1646". The recipes include treatments for various conditions including broken bones, burns, jaundice, vomiting, the plague, scrofula, as well as fruit waters, chocolate and hair dyes. Some recipes are titled with the name of the doctors including Mayern and Burges. The volume is numbered pages 1-209, and contains an index at the back.
