Admin./ biographical historyJohn Howship was Assistant Surgeon at the St. George’s Infirmary, London and a lecturer at the school of the St. George’s Hospital, London. He moved to the Charing-Cross Hospital in 1834 as Assistant Surgeon, and was promoted to Chief Surgeon in 1836. In 1833, Howship gave the Hunterian Lecture at the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He was also a Member of the College Council.
Scope and ContentLecture notes by John Howship from the lectures of various people, on physiological, anatomical and pathological subjects. Also a list of Howship's preparations by William Augustus Hillman describing specimens in Howship's museum.
