Admin./ biographical historyHarold James Macklin Stratton was a Consultant Ear, Nose, and Throat Surgeon at Ashford Hospital, Middlesex. He was a Member (MRCS) of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (1940). Stratton obtained his LRCP England in 1940 and became FRCS Edinburgh in 1949.

Scope and ContentThe collection contains:
12 manuscript leaves of notes relating to medical cures and recipes, including for scrofula, hydrophobia, influenza and lumbago. There is also an unaddressed letter to "Sir" giving medical advice.
13 newspaper clippings mainly relating to cures for Cholera and the purification of water.
1 hand-drawn family tree of James Summers of Bocking, Essex
All of the items are undated but seem to date from the early part of the nineteenth century.
