Scope and ContentIndenture of apprenticeship, bonding Joseph Barnard Davis of Murton in the County of York (gentleman) to John Wilson of the City of York (surgeon and apothecary) for 5 years to be taught the "trade art mystery and occupation of surgeon and apothecary". Joseph Davis [senior, father to John Barnard Davis] paid John Wilson £15 and £10 for the apprenticeship and in return John Wilson agreed to John Barnard Davis 1 Shilling every Shrove Tuesday. The bond was witnessed by John Peckitt and Henry Pearson, and signed by Joseph Barnard Davis, J Davis, and John Wilson.
