Scope and ContentThis file features notes on the dissection of bodies (including those of John Bellingham, John Bishop, John Head and Elizabeth Ross) and consists of three parts:
- “Record of the Bodies of Murderers, delivered to the College for Dissection.” Quarto manuscript volume by William Clift listing bodies received by the college and describing the cases of executions and dissections from 1800 to January 1814. Very few pages were used in the volume.
-An additional manuscript is inserted in the volume in the hand of William Clift and one other, that contains similar material from 1814-1820. -There are also two other loose papers of notes on the dissections, one dated 1807-1815; and the other dated 1812-1816 [former ref. ADDMSS060].
