Scope and ContentThe payment and expenses forms for the museum specimens for the years 1853-1861. Includes payments for, amongst other things: American, Malayan and Egyptian skulls; ambergris; body of an alligator; a "malformed child"; the skull of an African elephant; 4 "crania aborigines New Holland" [sic]; 7 foetuses in a glass case; corals and shells; a sword fish; and specimens of pterogators. The total bill is for £9998; 17 shillings, and 5 pence.
